Intrepidly, we pilot our way across unchartered waters. Mainly ponds in Sheffield. But it's important to have a test run before we go all out travel pondcasting.

This is a very rough pondcast. We cover diverse issues ranging from rootsy, urban poetry to parental excuse poetry. I challenge Rob's advanced prude status. He challenges his microphone to continue operating whilst doused in tea. We have fun.

Also: What's Asterix the Gaul's problem? The Perils of Cheap Flight. Amateur Psychoanalysis. All this and much more...

TMI, TMI. But my coworkers think I'm insane because I keep giggling and guffawing. Can't wait for the next post/whatever/thingy.

    {Rob, your dad is, indeed, brilliant!}

I've downloaded, and will probably listen on my way to work tomorrow. You should look into getting listed on iTunes.

I've already said what I needed to on FB: Just for others though: It's brilliant. Well worth ivesting the 50 minutes or so in listening to.

I think Asterix' problem was analysed nicely...

I think the Sigur Rós video's excellent. Does that mean I think Rob's a prude? I'd really like to hear opinions on the Sigur Rós video from genuine nudists. Maybe you could interview some next time? I did read some web sites on Christian Nudism a while back, and I tend to think the Church could learn a lot from them. The thing you mentioned on people looking better in clothes, for example: do you not think that exemplifies the potential of clothes to sexualise more than nudity itself?

Possibly that was more than I wanted to say in a public forum...

I did have more to comment on, but I've forgotten it. Ben's sound was a lot better than Rob's.

We are now listed on iTunes. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, it's really encouraging and I certainly can't wait to get started on the next ones.

James, I think your points are really well made. I probably wanted to say something along the same lines but got distracted. I'm afraid that the sound issue may well persist as it is to do with the sound on Skype being less clear when receiving a call from Rob. Any ideas?

Christian Nudism is a really interesting idea. Because technically, if redemption restores man to his relationship with God in the garden, then a redeemed Christian should find clothing unnecessary. It totally depends on your theological stand point on people being redeemed while on earth, or saving it up until they reach heaven.

But wouldn't it be great to watch a scary fundamentalist revival meeting where people got saved, stripped off, and danced around like the Sigur Ros video....

Perhaps heaven is a bit like the Sigur Ros video. I like that they laugh a lot.

And on the clarity of sound issue, perhaps you could just record some of Rob's stock phrases in high quality, Ben could talk, and you could insert them in appropriate places…

I like the idea of Rob having "stock phrases"...

I haven't seen the video yet: Ouronline computer's in quite a public place in the house, and if someone walked in on me, they may well get the wrong idea...

Wow. You got that sorted quick. Please never start begging for reviews on iTunes in the 'cast. It really annoys me when podcasters do that. I don't know anything about sound, I'm afraid. Though I know plenty of podcasts do record over Skype and manage to avoid the trouble you had. There are probably some podcasts on good podcasting technique, I would imagine.

I think that was the basic theology behind Christian Nudism, though I seem to remember they also had quite a long list of nudity in the Bible, including several occasions when they suggest Jesus may have been nude. I thought it was a bit of a lit down when I saw behind the scenes photos of the Sigur Rós video, and they all had dressing gowns on. They're not even real nudists. Hopefully heaven will be a little more genuine.

Um... I've now commented on the same post three times. If I'm going to keep this up a feed of your comments would be really helpful.

    Obviously, "lit" = "let".
