Sun, 15 March 2009 Hey! We're totally back! Where've you been? What's been going on in your life? After so long away it's difficult to know exactly where to come back - so we ended up speaking about the things that came off the top of our head. We review the world's leading pondcast, and get some feedback from the wonderful guys at Across the Pond podcast. Competition time: Can you design some arms for Britain, to help disturb Rob? Send an email to pondcast@googlemail.com with your picture attached and we'll judge which the best arms are. I'll send them to my contact at the Ministry of Defence. There might be repercussions. We'll think of another prize too. Dear Sir, We are young, British
whippersnappers and we think that we have the best pondcast available
on the web. Yours is quite good, and we review it on our most recent
show (Episode 6. Back in the Saddle). This may be of interest to you.
We believe that Minnesota is not really the Hockey State at all, as
proclaimed on PONDCAST 973. We think that it's 'the state of 10,000
quite good lakes', and Wikipedia defines it as, 'The North Star State',
amongst others. Whilst we admire the jovial nature of your host, Jess
Myers, we worry that he may be jaded and losing interest in the job. I appreciate that you have big corporate
sponsorship from telecommunications giant AT&T, but we believe that
we could provide a more thoughtful, balanced and deft analysis of
Minnesota Wild's hockey progress. Plus we have information and world
news. Please find our indie heart beautiful. Thank you, Yours ever valiantly, Across The Pondcast - http://pondcast.libsyn.com x o x o from "War Elephant" (Partisan Records) from "Feel.Love.Thinking.Of." A couple of bits on Hockey:
"The Igloo" is the nickname of the Pittsburgh Civic Arena, where the Penguins play their home games. The Wild were playing away in Pittsburgh that night.
This is less fact, more interpretation: I believe that the "great state of hockey" that the chap was referring to wasn't Minisoda, but actually a metaphysical representation of the community of Hockey fans in North America. The fact that both Minisoda and Pittsburgh were both in it seemed to suggest that might be the case.
Go digestives!

[I'm sure I'll have more comments as I listen]
Perhaps that's what that moment of silence was--which, by the way, was very relaxing.
So, back to cataloging the nonfiction picture books in front of me.
[am now done commenting, I think]
